My favorite books of 2019
I read more books than last year: 46 books in total in 2019.
Here’s the top 10 list of favorite ones:
Rage Becomes Her by Soraya Chemaly
Educated by Tara Westover
Invisible Women — Exposing the Data Bias in a World Designed for Men by Caroline Criado Perez
Finite and Infinite Games by James P. Carse
Bolla by Pajtim Statovci
Utopia for Realists by Rutger Bregman
Rose is Gone by Katja Kettu
Daring Greatly by Brené Brown
Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World by David Epstein
Capital in the Twenty-First Century by Thomas Piketty
Overall, out of 46 books I read, a few were really great fiction, some were quite enjoyable fiction and some were non-fiction books full of really interesting research. I didn’t pay attention to this when selecting the top 10 books but counted now that 5/10 of authors are women.
I listened to some audiobooks but also came to the conclusion that I love reading actual books so much (I’m a visual learner) that I need to save the best and important books — probably most — for the actual reading experience. I read more fiction than last year but I am still in need of finding and reading much more great fiction. Tips are welcome!
Something I know is that I love reading, the beauty of words and stories, and writing. So next year, I wanna read more great literature.
Next year I want to:
Read many great books! No goal regarding the number of books.
Read more fiction
Read non-fiction books full of important research
